Sordor Mountainmagic

Born the fourth son of a noble dwarven family in Icefia, Sordor wanted for little and had every option laid before him in his life.  His family was wealthy enough to send him to nearly any school, and he was wise and smart enough to be accepted at any of them.  His first thought was to be a cleric in the divine service of Smofarf, but that honor was taken by his first brother.  His next thought was to be a grand wizard in the tradition of his family, but his second brother was an accomplished wizard before Sordor could begin.  Somewhat disheartened, Sordor stubbornly waited for his third brother, a mere seven years older than he, to decide upon a path.  That brother settled upon becoming a crafter, another traditional and respected profession in the family.  Sordor now had to choose from the myriad of other, and rarely sought after professions.

Sordor found his answer after traveling (slowly and mostly underground) and talking to the clerics of Habastly. He foudn that he had a real fondness for nature.  He had never noticed it living in the confines of a arcane mountain.  As he often points out, this is not a elven sissy fondness that causes one to hug trees and frolic, but a fondness born of respect and admiration.  A fondness that drives a dwarf to defend what he holds dear.  There was however, a problem for Sordor.  Since he dreaded being in the open spaces of the world, how could he devote his life to protecting nature.  He turned to those that knew the realm he loved best, the underground.  Among those he turned to were the knights of the Order of the Sunlight Below.  Dedicated to the eradication of atrocities of the underdark, they were often rangers and while they were founded by elves, had members from every race around the world.  Sordor found his calling and began to apprentice in the order.
